Download ClipPin
Pin a clip and it stays at the top. Copies stay on your devices. Get it on the Mac App Store or as a free direct download. The Google Play listing is in progress. No account.
Mac
Download ClipPin for Mac Download on the Mac App Store
- Open the downloaded
ClipPin-1.2.0.dmg. - Drag ClipPin into Applications.
- Open ClipPin from Applications (or Spotlight). It lives in the menu bar — there is no Dock icon. If the menu bar is full, the icon can be hidden there too.
- Open the panel with Shift-Command-V, or click the menu bar icon.
- When asked, turn ClipPin on under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility. That lets a click paste for you. Without it, a click still copies and you press Command-V.
Hover a row and click the pin to keep a clip at the top. Right-click the menu bar icon for settings. Option-click it to pause tracking.
The DMG is notarized. If Gatekeeper still warns the first time, Control-click ClipPin in Applications, choose Open, then confirm. You only do that once.
Android
- Open the downloaded APK. If Android asks, allow installs from your browser or Files.
- Open ClipPin.
- For automatic capture, turn on ClipPin under Settings → Accessibility. Android 12 and later shows a “ClipPin pasted from your clipboard” notice each time. That is the system confirming the read.
- You can also send a clip with Share → ClipPin, or add the Send clipboard Quick Settings tile.
- The floating bubble is optional. Turn it on in ClipPin’s settings and allow “Display over other apps”.
A copy with no visible Copy button — a hardware keyboard’s Ctrl-C, for example — is picked up the next time ClipPin is in front, or when you send it with Share or the tile.
Pair a Mac and a phone
- On the Mac: Settings → Sync → Show Pairing Code. The code lasts 3 minutes.
- On the phone: open ClipPin, turn sync on, type the code, tap Pair.
Sync is end-to-end encrypted and stays on your devices. The optional internet relay only forwards ciphertext. Details are in the privacy policy.
