Gmail Filter by Sender & Subject + Mark as Read privacy policy
Gmail Filter by Sender & Subject + Mark as Read is a Chrome extension. It runs on mail.google.com and adds a filter button. This policy describes what the extension does with information.
What it accesses
On Gmail’s page, when you use the filter button, the extension reads the sender address and subject of the message you selected. You can edit the subject before the filter is created, or leave the subject out and filter by sender only.
The extension signs in through Google. The permissions requested are https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.modify and https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.settings.basic.
With those permissions it calls the Gmail API only to find the selected message, mark it as read, and create a filter for the chosen sender and subject. The filter’s action is to mark matching mail as read. It does not read message bodies or attachments.
What it stores
The extension does not store message content. Nothing is sent to any server run by the developer. Nothing is sold or used for ads. The only servers the extension contacts are Google’s: to sign in, and to mark the selected message as read and create the filter above.
Why
The extension uses the sender address and subject only to mark the selected message as read and to create the Gmail filter you asked for.
Google API data
Gmail Filter by Sender & Subject + Mark as Read’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements, and the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
