Workspaces — Business Switcher privacy policy

Workspaces — Business Switcher is a Chrome extension. It does not operate its own server. This policy describes what the extension does with information.

Data stored on your device

The extension saves the following in Chrome local storage on that browser profile:

Businesses you create (name, icon, color)
Tab URLs and titles you save for a business
Mac app names and paths you enter, if you use app launching
Optional login snapshots (cookies and site storage) for sites where you turn on per-business logins
New-tab tiles, Google Tasks settings, and Google Calendar settings
Reminder times and titles you set on a task

This stays on the device unless you turn on Drive backup.

Google account

Connecting Google Tasks, Google Calendar, or Drive backup uses Chrome sign-in and the Google account already signed in to Chrome. The extension asks only for:

Google Tasks, to show and edit your tasks
Google Calendar, to list calendars and to show and edit events
Drive app data, a private backup area that does not appear in your Drive file list

The extension never receives your Google password. The sign-in token is used only to call those Google APIs.

Drive backup uploads businesses, saved tabs, the launcher, and settings. Cookie jars and site-storage snapshots are removed before upload. Logins stay on the device.

What this extension does not do

It does not sell data
It does not use data for advertising or analytics
It does not read the text of pages you visit
It does not send data to a developer-operated server

Mac app launching

If you install the optional Mac helper, the extension sends the app name and path you saved to that helper on your computer. That message does not leave the machine.

Google API data

Workspaces — Business Switcher’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements, and the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
